Homer in the Bushes

A tufted Homer caught halfway back into a wall of green.

The face is all eyes and warm color, pressed into a narrow opening between two heavy banks of pile. The surrounding green is shaggy and irregular, more like foliage than a background. It closes around him from every side as he makes his quiet retreat.

The cartoon geometry stays clean underneath the texture, but the loops refuse to behave like a flat illustration. It is the classic Homer backing into the bushes moment translated into fiber: part character, part hiding place, a small bright interruption in a very overgrown field.
